polymide
Polyimide (PI) refers to a class of polymers containing imide rings (-CO-NR-CO-) in the main chain, and is considered one of the organic polymer materials with the best overall performance. It can withstand temperatures above 400°C, with a long-term service temperature range of -200°C to 300°C. Some types have no distinct melting point. It exhibits high insulation properties, with a dielectric constant of 4.0 at 10³ Hz and a dielectric loss of only 0.004 to 0.007, classifying it as Class F to H insulation. Based on the chemical structure of the repeating unit, polyimides can be divided into three categories: aliphatic, semi-aromatic, and aromatic polyimides. According to the intermolecular interactions, they can be categorized as cross-linked or non-cross-linked. As a specialty engineering material, polyimide is widely used in fields such as aerospace, aviation, microelectronics, nanotechnology, liquid crystals, separation membranes, and lasers.
